The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has provided guidance to a candidate who lost access to the SIM card used in creating their JAMB profile code. The advisory came in response to an inquiry made on December 14, 2024, via JAMB’s official Twitter handle (@JAMBHQ).
The candidate, identified as @PhilipBles96964, raised concerns about their friend losing the SIM card linked to their JAMB profile. According to the tweet, attempts to retrieve the SIM card through the mobile network’s welcome-back process were unsuccessful because the SIM card was not initially registered in the candidate’s name.
In response, JAMB advised the affected candidate to contact the original owner of the SIM card for assistance in retrieving it. Once the SIM card is recovered, the candidate is instructed to send the keyword RESEND via SMS to either 55019 or 66019. This action will enable the candidate to retrieve their JAMB profile code.
The profile code is an essential requirement for completing the JAMB registration process, and losing access to it can significantly disrupt a candidate’s ability to proceed with their UTME registration.
JAMB’s swift response to the query underscores its commitment to addressing candidates’ concerns and ensuring a smooth registration process for all prospective UTME applicants.
Candidates facing similar challenges are encouraged to follow this guidance and promptly seek assistance from their network providers if additional support is needed.
